My journey with hands-on bodywork began 15 years ago with a training in traditional Thai yoga massage. I spent several years diving deep into energy healing modalities, until eventually my love of dance & yoga and fascination with the mind-body connection brought me back to working with holistic, full body massage.
I am blessed to have trained in two beautiful and complimentary methods; Alchemy of Touch and Esalen Massage.
As bodywork releases muscular tensions and encourages mobility in the joints, so it frees the mind and soothes the soul. Body, heart and mind are balanced and re-integrated through a nourishing experience of deep relaxation and letting go.
alchemy of touch
Alchemy of Touch is a unique form of massage and healing developed by Tapesh Paradiso and Anouk Devi. This profound and transformational practice draws on elements of Osho Rebalancing Massage, deep tissue, Trager and energy work, among other modalities. This fusion facilitates the release of tension by focusing on the Myo-fascia in order to unwind physical imbalances and open subtle energetic channels, restoring the body and mind to a state of harmony and deep relaxation.
Unique to Alchemy of Touch is Tapesh's own innovative method ~ ‘Fluid Touch’. This technique uses wavelike movements, which allow energy to vibrate through the body, improving fluidity and oxygen flow, dispersing sensation and giving the receiver a delicious experience, even when combined with deep pressure that might otherwise be experienced as painful. This signature technique is what really sets Alchemy of Touch apart.
Esalen Massage is a full body massage, characterised by long flowing strokes, deep, detailed work on specific muscle groups and an emphasis on presence & whole-body connectedness.
Developed at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, and inspired by the ocean waves, Esalen Massage is best described as the interface and integration of form, energy, structure, and soul. With its nurturing contact, integrating strokes, and detailed attention to the whole body, an Esalen Massage provides a state of deep relaxation and healing.
I lived & worked at the Esalen Institute in 2007 & 2008, during which time I completed my 250-hour certification in Esalen Massage. In 2017, I trained for a further 100 hours at Esalen.
